Newbie in New York City
Planning a family vacation to NYC..family of four from a Monday to Friday inclusive. If you live (or vacation) in NYC, what would you recommend for accommodations, flights, sight-seeing and restaurants? Champagne taste and (unfortunately) a beer budget.

Welcome to FT!
Your thread probably belongs in the NYC sub-forum, and you can request that a Moderator move it there, if you wish.
But your questions are really too broad at this point to elicit useful responses. Phrases like "champagne tastes" and "beer budget" don't really help very much. Tell us how much you can spend.
We can't tell you what flights you should take (or even whether you should fly at all) until you tell us where you are starting from.
What kind of food does your family like? What kind of sites would you like to see? How old are the kids? How many hotel rooms will you need?
Do you have any airline, hotel, or credit-card points that you could use to (partially) pay for your travel and/or lodging?
Try providing more detailed information, and I'm sure you will get some helpful replies.

Welcome to FlyerTalk.
As has been mentioned by others, the New York City Forum is the best place to ask this question; we've moved the query there.

- Where are you coming from?
- How old are your children?
- Would you consider yourself "well-traveled?"
- Are you interested in touristy stuff, historical sites, food, nightlife, theatre?
- Mainstream or ethnic food?
- Approximate budget?
- Etc.
