Water levels on the Hudson are quite high this morning. Only a few more feet before she spills into the streets near Chelsea.



If you try hard you can see the W in the background towards the left.

I think Bloomberg has proven more dangerous than the storm. Hopefully they will get the transit system back up and running.

Used to see it like that all the time, back in the 70s when I lived in Chelsea.

Indeed. Professional quality showing a much different version of the storm's impact. Thank goodness we have multiple sources available. :-:

For example, this is what passed for "breaking news" near the Meatpacking District this morning.



And this shot shows both the high water line along the Hudson and also the pretty nifty clouds hovering over lower Manhattan.
