Lightbulb The Daily News' rules for proper walking on the sidewalk

Too bad they didn't cover the dummy shown riding her bike on the sidewalk.

It is amazing how many tourists will come across a sidewalk where the space to walk narrows because of some obstruction.....

Code:

| |
| |--|
| | |
| | |
| | |
| |--|
| |
| |
...and suddenly decide to stop and park themselves in this formation...

Code:

| |
| |--|
| | |
| xxxx| |
| | |
| |--|
| |
| |
...rather than, say,...
Code:

| |
| |--|
| | |
| | |
| | |
| |--|
| xx|
| xx|

All pretty funny (and true). The fines need to be bigger though! @:-)

William Whyte wrote about this phenomenon. People love to gather in obstructive patterns. At the junction of two sidewalks. Or in front of Bloomingdale's. It appears to be a hard-wired instinct.

Love it! These situations are where having grown up playing hockey sometimes comes in handy

Article is hysterical, and I'm all in favor! Maybe this money could help offset increased tolls and MTA fares!

I love it! First thing the Daily News has come up with that's not in recent memory.

Yup, we walk. Sidewalks are our roads; this may be a foreign concept to those from the burbs.
