Note the quote from Jim Carter towards the end of the article...

I have to imagine with UA and VX both to SFO that AA won't go that route...

I struggle to see any obvious choices...

Maybe a turn to LHR on AA metal?

EDIT: I realize that AA just discontinued LHR recently, but US provides potentially some feed that could make it work again...

100% agree. Using BA to get to LHR is awful - especially when using miles and getting gouged on taxes.

At one time, wasn't AA BOS-SFO 3x daily? Anyone know when it ceased?

I'd say about 5-6 years ago.

On that note, wasn't AA BOS-LHR 3x daily at one time also? BOS used to be my base, and I remember seeing the AA billboard saying 3 daily nonstops to London as you come out of Sumner Tunnel.

AA had a nice link between BOS and LHR, but I think they dropped the route altogether to allow BA to pick it up. BOS-LHR was always a nice flight on AA, and I was sad to see it go. I didn't mind the 752 cabin in J (and I didn't hate it in Y), either. After all, you can't use SWUs on BA...
