Purchasing European Airpass with award tickets

Hi, I wanted to ask the ever knowlegeable FTers out there if there was some way to purchase a European Airpass in conjuction with a free mileage award ticket. I know that British Midlands has it from London. How about from Paris (Air France)or Frankfurt (Lufthansa)? Most of these carriers require you to have a revenue ticket into Europe. Do they really check as my travel agent is willing to issue the airpass but will not take any responsibility if they don't let me on. Any feedback or advise would be much appreciated.

Thanks

There are a few air-passes that do not require you purchase an international ticket in conjunction with purchase of the pass. Check out http://www.airtimetable.com/AIRPASSFRAMES.htm use Europe link at top of page. Could not get direct link sorry.

Some fares of low cost ailines are even cheaper than airpasses: Ryan air, EasyJet and, Go are three very inexpensive UK based airlines. Most of these airlines only sell the extremely discounted tickets at respective internet sites. My wife and I traveled round trip from London to Venice for her birthday last Summer for less than one hundred dollars, and some freinds of ours went to Athens from London for less than we paid for the trip to Venice. No air pass I have seen can best those fares.

Depending on the places you need to fly to/from, I would also suggest checking out the low fare carriers cy-gone listed.

RyanAir's current sale from Frankfurt (Hahn) to London is £5 one way. (Though taxes are prohibitive to/from the UK, European home of liberalism, ha!). http://www.ryanair.com

There's also Buzz, at http://www.buzzaway.com

Use http://www.airtimetable.com/airlinesearch.htm and input word lowfare in aliance box to see a comprehensive list of low cost carriers in Europe. (sometimes this takes a long time to come up but information is great) Includes web links to many less well known and very economical airlines web sites, route networks, and direct link to current promotional fares. Most of these airlines can book e-ticket on line and they will more than likely save you money over any air pass I have seen.

I don't think there is any problem in general using a free ticket as the "trigger-er" for oneo fthe airpass programs--they really just need to have a ticket number (15 digits or whatever) to crossreference.

I wish you were right, but you're not. Believe me, I tried.

I'm flying on a free Mileage Plus first class ticket to Frankfurt this summer. The Star Alliance Europe Airpass looked great for me.

Could not get it. In order to qualify, you must travel to/from Europe on a paid economy ticket on a Star carrier. Even if I was on a paid business or first ticket, I would not qualify. Only a coach ticket.
