Now the thing about Cartera that bugs many here is this:
It's not HAVING a glitch or a problem that is so bad, it's how that company consistently fails to handle it well. That is the worst part.
They pretend they never make mistakes so it must be us or maybe their own signed on merchant. And they are willing to throw said merchant under the bus everytime to get their way.
I measure a company's level of service not in what could go wrong, rather, I measure them in how they can FIX something WHEN it goes wrong.
If your miles posted you got lucky and it probably wasnt a very big transaction. Then there's no way you would have ever needed to contact customer service.
For chase ur, yes. And as said, they seem to always just fix it.
So yah.

Anyone know if theres some master search engine that I can just type in the store such as toyrs r us and it will look through all the shopping portals and break it down to which ones give which miles for the shop?

It would be the only way to change things, to fill out an online complaint for BBB. Even when Cartera pm'd me, I'm not the only one that was having a problem. The correct thing to do would have been to make a post in the thread for everyone to see and instruct ALL people to pm in order to (hopefully) get their miles. This company has been ducking the punches for too long now. They need a taste of their own medecine and that comes in the form of a complaint to the better business bureau.

I've never had a problem with Cartera, so I've never had to contact them for any reason, but seeing all the posts and articles about them, I think it's only a matter of time before I hit a snag.

I keep wondering if there is a reason others are meeting with success vs those that are having issues this year.....
I say this year because I too had major issues with Cartera for the last few years. I had to track, email, complain etc. I had a terrible time also with United Month of Miles and I didn't even have that many orders! Simple orders. I didn't even mess with gift cards etc. I made phone calls etc and finally got things taken care of.
At that time I switched to Chase Ultimate Rewards. Yes, run by Cartera. And last year I also had issues with their mall. But I noticed a pattern. It seemed to be certain stores I had issues with. Like Sears for example. Didn't matter what mall I used. I had to track down the points. The thing I liked about Chase was they just manually credited me the points.
This year I have been using United, AA and Southwest malls. I honestly have not had a single problem with any orders. Not even the bonus offers. I am using the same stores I used to have problems with (like Sears and Home Depot) and everything has posted.
I like Southwest the best because I get my points within 2-3 weeks after my order. I receive email confirmations also when I earn points.
I use Internet Explorer. I have cookies enabled. I use McAfee but had Norton before. I am not a computer expert but this is the set up I have used for a few years.
Makes me wonder if there are compatibility issues people have. I also wonder if this is happenning for certain stores and not others. All I know is that after years of dealing with Cartera and the nightmares I had.... I have not had those issues this year at all.
So I can only assume they made improvements.

The only improvement they made was to rid themselves of scammers like us - which is what they would probably say.
What I mean is...
What I mean is...
- We all do all the deals and GC buys and promos and everything.
- They offer it all either by design or by mistake.
- We FT types always go bigger on such offerings and so they tend to not like us very much--just like some stores always seem to have that old lady who comes in with tons of folded up coupons and hogs the register to try and redeem them every day.
- So they mess up say 75% of the gigs that we participate in, and this makes 50% of us complain about it, and 25% of us eventually get our miles.
- Then 90% of our kind goes away and stops using them.
- So this makes them feel like it's time to offer new stuff but they know all us scammy FT types wont bother them as much.
- But a new batch of us comes along--a less savvy batch that thinks nothing is wrong with Cartera, until they too get burned by them and start a thread like this, which gets populated by people like me who have old stories to tell.

Even though I am annoyed at not getting miles, I still am happy that I got introduced to the concept of buy online, pick up at store. Shopping is so much more pleasant that way. Don't have to waste time searching for something, plus get a dedicated line. In and out in under 5 minutes.

So are the cash companies like eBates, BigCrumbs, TopCashBack, uPromise, etc. necessarily their own engines? Cartera only partners with companies that have their own point/mile currencies, and not companies that just give back cash?
At the next level, is Cartera generally just going through CommissionJunction or LinkShare?

Ebates is owned by Performance Marketing Brands which operates other sites, though none that offer miles or points:
http://www.performancemarketingbrands.com/about/
It should be straightforward to trace the ownership of the others sites that you mentioned, and see if they subcontract any of their work to Cartera or anyone else. (Look in their privacy disclosures.)
