Help with booking from KTM to SIN

I want to send my friends mom and her two kids from KTM to SIN sometime in December 2013 probably around New years.

They will spend 5 nights at the Conrad Hilton. I wanted help in determining the most cost efficient way of utilizing my miles to buy their air. So far, I was only able to find that it would cost 25k UA miles for one away award, and therefore 150K for 3 in coach. Is there any way I can use AA miles to book this award?

If anyone knows a better way to spend my points in helping them get the air, please let me know. I was going to book the Conrad using Axxon but needed to know what to book air with before I booked the hotels.

Thanks in advance

UA: 145K
UR: 330K
AA: 110K
US: 45k
MR: 55K

Use US miles, or buy/trade for them if you don't have any. 90K for 3 roundtrips in TG business KTM-BKK-SIN.

Can you please elaborate more on this? This would potentially save 60k UA miles.

Thanks in advance, I appreciate the help.

Options are limited to TG/SQ on this route - so use UA. I see very good Y availability for 50K per person. Make sure you leave sufficient time for the connection on the return as there's only one flight from BKK to KTM a day.

Sure: 22.5K miles each way in Coach on CX, MH, or 9W. But you would have to call AA to book (and pay the $25/ticket telephone-ticketing fee).

My gf and I will apply for the available US airways card next month so we plan to have another 70-80k US miles if that makes any difference.

I am looking for flights from Dec 27 to Jan 1. ITA matrix shows fares ranging from 469 RT so im wondering if its just cheap to purchase these or better cheaper using points. Its a short haul flight so flying coach should be ok.

Sorry for the obvious shameless bump, but I am wondering if anyone else has more info on how to redeem the US miles as savage described?

Check the USAir award chart.

You need 25k/30k/40k miles for coach/business/first RT for flights within south & central asia. You can book on star alliance flights using USair miles.

I suggest going with USair miles even for coach if award tickets are available. You get almost 1.9cpm.

Hi, I tried booking via us airways by selecting award tickets, but I cant seem to find any availability in the whole of December so I figured I was not searching it right. Do I need to call in to make these reservations or?

Search on united.com for award seats. If you find them there, then call US Airways to book the flights you found.
