No more F on DUS-ORD and DUS-TORONTO?

I was told by a crew member that LH is planning to discontinue the F-Service on the above mentioned routes next year. She also told me, that they would not seat people (status pax) on the F seats, if the plane has a 3 class configuration. I hope she is wrong.

I know that for YYZ this seasonal service has been extended for the winter schd, but with J and Y only. For summer 2012 it looks like F class is still available

I am sure they will use the 8 F seats for J pax if they continue to use 3 class aircraft.

DUS-MIA

I hope that this doesn't spread to the DUS-MIA flight. I have an award booked in F in March.

Since both rotations can be done with one aircraft each they just need to put two of their C only 340's at DUS. That is most likely the reason why the flight goes from 333 to 343.

I read somewhere that LH is planning to retire some older 340s. Could these 330s be their replacement from FRA/MUC where they need F?

LH seems to be selling F on YYZ to FRA in Summer 2012 on a 346.

I thought YYZ-FRA was just J/Y but maybe this is new?

As with some other Canadian destinations C/Y in the winter and F/C/Y in the summer timetables. YVR is the same for example.

It's more an aircraft capacity issue to/from Canada since LH sells so few F seats. It uses A346s during summer peak vacation period on some routes because these aircraft max out seating capacity, then revert to A343s and A333s with 2-cabins on which they can sell C to business travelers. I expect a 2-cabin A333 on my DUS-YYZ flight next week (though wouldn't object to a 3-cabin plane where elites can sit in F seats).

My understanding is that the visiting european tourists in the summer season generate "F" paid business. Very few Canadian companies allow F travel to/from Europe however so there is not a lot of corporate demand.

LH 4731 YYZ - DUS No longer flying F?

I have a rewards ticket for Dec 15, and an Aeroplan rep. told me on the phone today that LH is no longer flying F on this route and I'd be put in Business instead. Is that accurate? He seemed a bit unsure.

Yes, Expertflyer shows no F class on your flight, but your plane is a 3-class config so you can assign your seat in the first two rows (first class seats but business class service)

Will this change after the winter session?

I am scheduled to fly next July DUS - YYZ in F. Should I look at changing?

It is true. I had the same flight on part of my award ticket. I realized it had been downgraded and called AP--at first they said it was a "minor" change, but F to J is not minor! Ended up changing it to a YUL-ZRH on F on LX.

If you call AP they should offer you alternatives, free of charge. They were willing to put send me through ORD en route to Germany, but I preferred to go via Zurich
