A friend of mine wanted to tagalong on my mileage run to Changsha in February. Unfortunately the fare went from $1660 to $3,400.

Just curious: Presumably it's miserable for anyone who isn't Chinese, right? Or is the difficulty of the sort that another demographic (say, African, Arab, S. Asian, etc.) wouldn't experience?
