MR on AA from Chile

Hi, first post here. This year I will be around 23K miles short to EXP. I thought something like SCL - MIA - DFW - NRT could get me there but the fare at anytime between now and Dec 31st is roughly $3K which sounds like a bit too much to me.

Any advice from savvier flyers?

I've ended up getting a SCL-DFW-HKG-DFW-SCL for $1800 and 26K miles. The DFW-HKG leg seems quite tough, 17 hours. Previously have flown ORD-PVG around 15h and was atrociously long.
