DO NOT CALL THE AIRLINES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE WHILE A DEAL IS STILL ACTIVE.

Fare is gone: You can safely add your frequent flyer number, get seat assignments and poke about in your itinerary.

Checking Your Tickets

Check Alitalia status: https://mm.alitalia.com/us_en/BOOKING/Apvsearch.aspx
(middle names should be included with the first name without a space IN CAPITAL LETTERS. For example, First Middle O'Last becomes "FIRST MIDDLE" "O LAST"):

Check KLM/AF status: http://www.airfrance.us/cgi-bin/AF/U...rRbkAction.do?
(may also work to change/select seats. A name like O'Last becomes "Olast")

Check Ticket Details: http://www.saudiairlines.com/portal/...rlines/Welcome
Double Check: http://www.checkmytrip.com

Will this ticket be honored?

Based on the history of these deals and the US Department of Transportation rules you should be fine if you have a ticket number.

If your JFK-MXP flight shows as cancelled on the KLM website and the Alitalia website gives an error, don't worry about it. That having been said, there are several people about to do this, and if you're one of them please share you experience on this leg (if you cannot edit the wiki, PM WhIteSidE).

Wanna know your booking class?
Go to Delta.com:

Home > My Delta > My Trips > Trip Details > VIEW RECEIPT

Will I earn miles?

If you are in this for miles be aware that you may not earn miles.
  1. Delta: Booked on carrier websites: Yes. Despite earlier concerns, it appears that these fares will earn, miles on DL even if booked via priceline, as reported by cataclysmicvoid.
1.1. For 006 ticket with flight operated by AZ probably not. See this post. Please report back your experience.
  2. Alaska: No on AZ segments. No on most AF/KL segments because of the fare code. No on DL segments if not booked on 006 stock. No on DL if booked into O class. Yes on DL segments if you have a 006 ticket stock.
  3. KLM: Yes (will be at 50% or 25% depending on the exact fare booked)
  4. Air France: Yes (will be at 50% or 25% depending on the exact fare booked)
  5. Alitalia: Yes (will be at 50% depending on the exact fare booked)

More generally, these very cheap fares will typically not earn full miles. In some ways, AZ may be a good program to earn to as it appears many of the AF and KL flights that would earn 25% into their programs will earn 50% into AZ. It seems that most people departing from JFK are booked in O class which may not have much earning. Some people departing from LAX have V or other classes which do have earning benefits. The most earning will probably occur on an 057 (AF) or 074 (KL) ticketed and operated flight, credited to AS, if and only if the fare class is one of those listed as eligible on the Alaska earning website.

As noted, the auction is for biz, but I believe the ams-nrt is the new KL biz which has decent reviews. The PE reviews for KLM are generally mediocre to negative with lowlights including a sstandard coach seat and no food and bev extras.

I'm seriously considering the auction, as I'm traveling with kids and would like to treat them with some lie flat sleep. What I find crappy about the auction (iirc) is that you have to commit at the time of bid, and that its possible a better price point could present itself at OLCI.

I did it and totally worth it. Prg-Ams was in Econ but for Ams-Nrt I upgraded through one of the kiosks in Schipol for €575. Although this is more expensive than the bid prices mentioned above, you are guaranteed that Business Class seat whereas someone can outbid you. Flew upstairs, cabin was 65% full so no one next to me. Service was great.

Online check-in offered AMS-NRT Business for $1080USD, kiosk check-in at BUD quoted a similar price in HUF. I opted to go cheap and took the free of charge middle seat between the "preferred seats", hoping no one buys up and I get an E- row to myself.

EDIT from Tokyo: Buy up price dropped to $649 on the KLM kiosk during the AMS connection. I kept my middle seat gamble and it paid off, those in the free seats among the "preferred seats" got an entire row each and the back was packed to the gills.

Hi, was anyone able to get a refund of taxes if not traveling? I am ticketed on 006 stock although none of the flights is operated on DL.

I went through this thread and it appears to be hit and miss? Should I try both PL and DL?

Advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

#055 is Alitalia. AZ credit to your DL account. Yes for DL to Alaska. EY you should try for AA.

[FARE GONE] RTW for about $950; Alitalia Europe/asia combo deal

Was able to upgrade to premium economy on my CDG-SGN flight for $390 at check in (online). I think it was worth it for 12 hours in a bit more comfort.

Thank for the tip!

Anyone know if Alitalia, KLM, and Brussels Airlines are strict on weight restrictions for carry-on? Alitalia has an 8kg restriction =/. I really want to avoid having to check anything in and potentially losing my luggage.

I'll be connecting from Milan to Prague via Brussels airlines with a 6 hour connection to in Brussels. Is that enough time to see the city? Is it even safe for tourists (2 girls) to be taking the train downtown with so many stories of petty crimes like pickpocketing, mugging, ect.? I'm thinking of just going to Grand Place for lunch.

Just left Budapest for Prague by train. Should consider the first class cabin for 35 Eur. I got the whole cabin to myself. Also if you're going by train, the restaurant on the train is pretty decent and reasonable price.
