Unfortunately yes. No way around the fee anymore since they cancelled the LIMA to IPC flight. Before it was possible with that flight as you enter Chile via Easter Island.

It appears Orbitz should let you cancel by 10pm CST the day after booking for free (no fees)

I believe you'll have to pay the reciprocity fee since SCL will be your entry into Chile.

Yes, you'll have to pay the reciprocity fee on arrival at SCL. (The only way around this was when LAN had the LIM-IPC flights.) The reciprocity fee is charged for any international arrivals at SCL. Enter Chile anywhere else - by land or air - and you don't pay the fee.

Funnily enough I'm leaving this Saturday on a seven (!) person itinerary from the original deal!

When I booked the original deal, the fare was *really* buggy. LAN showed it, but couldn't book, and many OTAs couldn't. Eventually got it ticketed on the CANADIAN Expedia for 6 tickets, and 1 ticket on Cheapoair.

So I looked and you're correct MEX-SCL and SCL-MEX are in Q. SCL-IPC-SCL is in H.

I just spent a while on the phone with Alaska (Nick in Seattle), who did some digging but confirmed that Q is a full earning on that segment.

My question is: Where do I get seat assignments for these flights?

What? But it's not even on their chart!
I'll be more than glad to hear that. But I am suspicious. Are you sure it's not because he is a clueless agent?
Anyway, just got a ticket. I can always cancel it by tomorrow.

How does one pay the $75 and get the stop over ( Guessing either Lima or Santiago here) Do you have to call to book?

chose multi-city when booking and put in what days you want to fly to/from each airport.
