RGN- Y fare discussion (previously in the RGN-SFO F thread)

There is still one other airline offering a fare to the US...so far I've only been able to price it one way. This is a Y fare with a fare basis of about $18-23 US.
Available to tea party and big apple, flying with one(world) of the middle eastern monarchies. Was able to price it at EX-uk.

[Note from BiziBB, Mod Mileage Run forums: following a tip from a FTer here I've agreed to move this sub-thread of posts to its own subthread. Good luck.
Original RGN thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/milea...ces-vary.html]

Sounds nice, but not trekking all the way to RGN just to sit in Y...

Agreed. But my mom, aunt, and brother have one-way tickets to visit me in PNH already. This would be a good, cheap way to get them home.

Good if you live in SE Asia. Not worth positioning for, though. Especially in whY.

I'm poised to book this one, but am running into a little trouble.

I need a return flight from India/Pakistan. DEL-RGN one-way is 350, and 550 for LHE-RGN! Can any give me guidance on a reasonable way to book a rewards flight for this, route ... is that possible?

Why not fly IndiGo to BKK (under £200 return) and then get an AirAsia flight from BKK to RGN?

That works! And a very fair price at that. 230+150+65us=me really happy.

Doesn't cost hardly anything extra to fly to the big apple via ORD, and since baggage inspection will occur there, it poses no problem regarding checked luggage. It prices nearly equivalently with a change of plane in LHR, but one would probably have to forego checked luggage to disembark there.

Which airport are you forcing the connection in SE Asia to get this to price?

Not necessary to force anything in SE Asia. Just do a multistop following MKR-MR's advise. Too bad a stopover isn't possible, as Petra is really worth a visit.

Interesting - I see this too, but seems to only work ex-Asia OW? depending on where you need to position to in the US, you can also get to the windy city for ~GBp350 (direct)

For the heck of it, I'm in for $278 in Y.
Doubt it will be a hassle to get that one honored.
