They bumped the rate!

Took a break from booking flights to do a few other things. One way ORD SFO went from 99 to 153 in Jan.

I am happy, using combination of 10% off/ $30 entertainment.com and costco gift cards it is cheap!

If you combine DEQAA and DEQ11, take 9 MR ORD-SFO , you can be EXP for less than $1600

what is the restaurant.com deal? I guess the 10% you are mentioning is the same as the 10% off on AA gift cards at costco

Mid-week double MR

Just completed a double MR last Monday/Tuesday. All 4 segments were $99/ea ($214 RT) and I was lucky to get the red-eye LAX/ORD Monday night and connect to the 6:45a to LAX and then do a 10:20am to ORD and the 6:30pm back to LAX. All flights were early due to winds in the west. Exhausting - Yes! But it only took a day out of my life and gave me 13,960 mi! Puts me well over the top for Platinum! Yea! (Now to start in January to work on EXP!!

I just booked an MR from 1/5 in the afternoon returning home in the morning of 1/9. I'll be doing a combination of flights between LAX/SFO and DFW/ORD. I'm using my CA address to stack the promos.

DFW isn't as many miles as ORD, but the ORD fares weren't always cheap on the dates/times I needed. I was also leery of ORD weather, so I'm happy with my DFW-SFO segments. I always have to position from DTW (it's never cheap), so I prefer to do my MRs this way.

Overall I'll net 67K for around $1,600 including positioning costs on Delta. I used AA gift cards I already had on hand. I'm also doing a vacation to Hawaii in late January that will net me 19K EQM plus another likely Hawaii trip in Feb. That'll be more than enough to requalify for EXP with only minimal additional flights, so I can focus on DL the rest of 2012.

I didn't requalify for EXP in 2011, so this perfect in that I can effectively get two years worth of EXP for one.

Now the big question is....just how poor are the upgrade rates going to be? I couldn't even get a non middle exit row for many segments.

Can you guys be a bit more specific? I typically pride myself in my googling abilities, but I've been trying for awhile to no avail.

They never did. There was just no availability for the cheap seats.

I guess I should check more often. I check 2-3x/week.
