Got one (thanks Snorkmaster).
Tried to book another but Travelocity starting doing that thing where it shows you the flights at the cheap fare, but then jumps to $400 plus when you try to click through to purchase. The cheap fare also disapeared from the dates flexible search on AA.com. Maybe it will be back shortly as happened with another fare recently.

It did.
Alas, it's been pulled. Fare still shows up on travelocity and orbitz but either no valid dates or fare changes to $400+

Bummer. Fare pulled.
I was trying to decide what to do in Lexington.
Well if it pops up again, I'm ready with dates.
Any other suggestions for a 1-day or 2-3 day trip?
On quick trips, I often fly-in overnight, rent a car for the day, and fly-out next morning.
Trip Advisor people definitely suggest going on a Churchill Downs race day.
Regular race days are $2 admission.

5/4/06-5/7/06 would be good dates for the Kentucky Oaks (Fri 5/5/06) & Kentucky Derby (Sat 5/6/06), but tickets are already sold out except for a lottery. General Admission tickets are available day-of, but they have NO VIEW of the track.
Lottery: All applications for tickets to the 2006 Kentucky Derby and Oaks must be received by September 1, 2005.

Where better to listen to Bluegrass music than in the Bluegrass Region? The Festival of the Bluegrass, held annually at the Kentucky Horse Park Campgrounds, is the largest of its kind in the world. Each June, top Bluegrass performers come home to Kentucky to perform for an international audience. Other favorite festivals include: Danville's Great American Brass Band Festival , Berea Crafts Festivals, Shakespeare in the Park, Ballet Under the Stars, Mayfest, Picnic with the Pops, Woodland Arts Fair and the Woodland Jubilee.
If you are here on a Monday night, try to catch WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour. The show is taped weekly in Lexington in front of a live audience and features some of the best folk and acoustic music in the country. Broadcast on over 400 radio stations in 32 countries, WoodSongs can also been seen on the internet via weekly live webcasts.

Thank you Snorkmaster! I reserved this morning, and just bought 4 for 9/16-17, SFO-ORD-LEX-ORD-DFW-SFO, 5112 qmiles for $154.48. A red-eye there plus immediate turnaround, so no extra expenses. Other than the grief that I'm about to get from my husband and kids, since they are ticketed too! Can't get any miles if you stay at home^

I had three SFO-LEX RT held on aa.com, but I guess I waited to late to ticket it. Tried today and got the "we're sorry, but your fare has changed" when I clicked the purchase button, and it told me the fare was $400+ I know AA doesn't guarantee held fares, but I was looking forward to the 763 ORD-SFO =)

May I ask if you booked via AA.com or Travelocity or somehere else? I had no luck finding red eye availability for various dates--though not yours.
