The razor-thin margin
Just finished toting up the miles for '02 and realized I'll make 1K with a margin of 175 miles. Not hugely tight but not extravagent by any means.
What's the least anyone's made their status level by?

I admit that I am a bit nervous since a lot of my "last trip of the year" flying is into and out of Chicago and Dulles and the weather can be dicey. Then there's the temptation to take a nonstop to get home quicker.
But it is great fun to plug those numbers into Excel and hit that "sum" button. Gamblers have their rush, shoplifters (are you listening, Winona?) have theirs, but there's no thrill like a good mileage run

wow, fancy footwork.
i'm trying to figure out the point of this post, by the way. who cares how much you make it by...as long as you make it.
other posts in the past focused on a more relevant question: how much can you miss it by and still be comp'd?

I think that "close" can be defined 2 ways. Not only by the number of miles, but the calander date.
I will make my PLT on New Years Eve flying back from SAN - ORD. I land in ORD at 10:30pm. When I land, I will have PLT by 30 miles and have 1.5hrs to spare.
WHEW!
