Thanks pizzaandplanes, I got it late Sept-early Oct SFO-LAX-SYD-LAX-SFO. Kudos.

I'd been looking for a good price for a while.

Cheers,

Doc

That's just back to LAX - is that what you want?

$577 SFO-LAX-SYD-LAX-SAN over Thanksgiving. I splurged a few extra bucks to not have to deal with driving home from LAX. Thanks!!!!

Any advantage to doing all Delta metal? Will miles transfer to AS?

Not sure about yours, but from what I can see from the dates I want to travel, these are all VS codeshares but operated by Delta. I'm not sure in term of credited to Alaska since it's VS number and not DL.

Edit: oh oops, you did mentioned about Delta metal part, my bad. :P

Yeah, so I entered the DL reservation code on delta's website that Virgin gave me after purchase and all tickets book into T class. On AS that should be 50%. The tricky thing that I will attempt to do is call Delta and see if I can add my MVP 75K to the reservation since it was not an option on virginaustralia. That should give me 125% bonus miles, preferred seating, domestic upgrades. I know….its a hail mary.

Why call Delta if you can access your reservation on DL website? Just scroll a little bit down, you'll see a field to enter your frequent flyer (right underneath passenger's info screen) with different programs. I see AS/Mileage plan about 7/8 spots down . Just add it yourself, quick and simple

Now we have to figure out whether to credit Virgin America for eventual transfer to Alaska or try to credit Alaska via the Delta website.

Let me know what you guys think.

Yeah, on the DL website it won't let me delete the Virgin FF number it assigned to me. Says there is an error. Hmmmm….I'm not entirely sure that I want to change it to AS, because I'm thinking maybe after June 30, Delta will allow a status match and this flight alone would just about wrap up a Platinum medallion.
