AA: DEN-CLT-DFW-ICN-PVG-DFW-CLT-DEN [email protected] 19k EQM
One for the folks in the flyover states.
Routing through ICN allows transit through PVG w/o visa up to 72 hours.
Available for most weekends in March, Friday morning to Monday midday, with one night in PVG. There's a few dates where you can add 1-3 days in PVG visa free.
SWU confirmable upon booking for outbound on Fridays, currently none for Sat departure. May be able to find a PVG-DFW SWU open for the return, but I don't see any right now at a brief glance.
19,248 EQM @ 3.25 CPM. Note: This calc does not include the KE ICN-PVG, as it earns no miles on AA.

Can likely do it without the overnight in CLT on the way back (maybe for a few less miles), but I didn't have time to play with it that much.
Bookable through AA.com via ITA powertools.

I think it works for many locations, but I am not able to reproduce one from SFO

The kicker on this one (at least for me), is the ability to do it without a visa.

Actually I pulled the fare rule but I still can't understand why I can't route via ICN. There is no explicit places forbidding to route SFO-xxx-ICN-PVG but it just won't price.

You can route and it prices, it's just more on the options I briefly looked at. And for less miles.
Here's an example.
http://goo.gl/flights/SwSJ
Here's another. It showed at $1k on Google Flights until I selected the first leg, then dropped to $820 through DFW on the return.
http://goo.gl/flights/P6Qh
This one gets you through CLT on the outbound to maximize the mileage, but for $887 (4.7cmp) http://goo.gl/flights/mSQP
Basically, you're just going to have to play with the routing and dates. Might find something better for SFO. 4.7CPM isn't especially good in terms of MR, but it might be worth it if it meets your dates and you can confirm a SWU one-way.
Edit: scratch that on the ORD, it was an open jaw to PVG-ORD/DFW-SFO.
