Haven't taken these flights yet but will be taking them later in Feb.

I'm pretty sure the 777's that AA uses on DFW<->NRT have the old angle-flat seats in a 2-3-2 layout.

Let us know how the CGK connection goes. Do you plan to try to "transit" or will you leave the airport for a few hours?

I am at zero miles and should achieve 100,000 in the next 90 days with upcoming flights. 9 out of 10 segments on AA metal have already been confirmed to business (C) using SWU. I fly out Monday (2/1/15) DFW-HKG on AA137, anyone else on that flight?

I would search the aa forum. I bet that the answers are there.

AA LAX-DFW-HKG-SIN // KUL-NRT-LAX 19727 mi $566

Need to book a cheap hop SIN-KUL. Less than 3 cents per mile.

SWU availability NRT-LAX; probably no dice for DFW-HKG.

Are you saying you're looking for a 3cpm flight SIN-KUL? Meaning $5.50 one way? Seems unlikely.

AA60 NRT-DFW is a OLD 777-200 2-3-2. I got a SWU. The whole middle row (the "3") were totally empty. Other seats were occupied by AA employees. Video is awful. Hardly any selections. My video broke midway. Bring cigarette lighter adapter. No mid flight snacks. It is a small basket with high sodium potato chips. Seats are old and not lie-flat and mine made lots of groaning noises and got stuck several times. FA was useless. I asked her to write the seat up, she just shook her head and said she doesn't know why it does that noise.

FA was useless. Japanese guy across the aisle to my left pointed to his menu in Japanese and wanted a particular meal. FA said to him I don't read Japanese, what do you want to eat. Poor guy did not speak English. He was pointing to what he wanted. All she had to do was flip back one page and see he was pointing to the third item on the menu. Instead she said do you want beef, fish or chicken. He had no idea what she said. She said what do you want. Her name was Nancy. She was so not helpful. She went out of her way to be unhelpful. She could have called the other FA who spoke Japanese. How do these folks get to keep their jobs? No one is watching them and monitoring them.

My next flight I arrive at 1AM and depart at 7AM and the counter opens at 4AM and the lounge opens at 3:30AM.

So I flew DFW-HKG (got SWU), spent night, took CX flight to CGK and landed 1pm and hung around till 9pm. Not much to do. There is a foot massage place - 30 min for 75,000. Food choices are really bad. There is a hotel in terminal 1A but it is 470,000 which in my mind is very expensive, you can take a cab for 50,000 and get a hotel 3 miles away for $18 - $28. They have easyboy recliners in the hallway for 150,000 but no privacy and out in the open. Alternative are metal seats in the airport terminal. Counters open 2.5-3.0 hours prior to departure, once you get your boarding pass, see if you can get into a lounge, better seats and better food.

I will be in KUL for a few hours next month. What do you recommend for a place to sleep for 3-6 hours in the airport secure side and how much is it?

There is a transit hotel near gate c37 if I'm not mistaken. I believe the name is sama sama express, also pricey last I checked was usd80+ not worth it for a few hours. I left the secure side and slept on the metal benches. Lotsa mosquitoes though. If you will be on the ground during business hours, you can take the airtrain to KL Sentral and have a look, it takes 1 hour one way and about usd30.

Pretty much the same flights for nrt-cgk-nrt as mine. I'm doing this run and also to get some suntory whisky at nrt, can't seem to find it around town. Let us know how it goes with a short turn around at cgk.

Just did the quick turn at CGK. The "airside" of the airport closes at night. You can read about my experience on my trip report, I posted the link earlier.

It is some great milage and would be nice to rake in the new year with a little over 20k. So I say go for it but try to make a vacation out of it. That week in Bali goes down as one of my top vacations
Did you apply any SWU's or did they not clear on your return?

I'm flying from DFW > HKG and back in March and plan on using SWU's as a EXP and I'm bit worried they won't clear.
