AA: ORD-SAN-BZE $385 ai rt (3.44 cpm) 9 segments

11,186 miles.

9 segments(!!): 10/20 departure, 10/23 return. Horrible layovers though (5hrs in MIA, Overnight in LAX)

BZE-MIA-LAX-SAN-LAX-ORD

3.37 cpm if you work it through Google Flights and add a DFW between the first ORD and SAN.

SAN -> Belize is the cheap leg. SAN-MIA-BZE is currently $228 rt (3.76 cpm)

This is nuts ... in a fun way. If AA Admirals Club had decent foods and facilities, I wouldn't mind doing the trip and checking out the lounges along the way.

What a crazy genius you are!

My goal is less trips and longer stays. Its interesting that whether long or short it gets old doing the same thing all the time

That link includes 2 legs on Spirit. Do you get AAdvantage miles or points on Spirit?

Yep. I'm glad I did my segment runs and more bizarre itins back in years 1-5 of the hobby, back in the early 90s when those were rewarded much more generously and flying wasn't as much of a pain. That gave way to a bias toward transcons, but these days it's harder to get upgraded on those, so you might as well do fewer, longer trips. I think those of us who aren't bound to biz travel just tend to evolve that way.

No. It originally was all AA metal. That fares probably gone by now and they're doing some of their "frankenstein" tickets, mixing one-ways in there.

Thanks OP! Managed to snag one for $240 for a weekend in January. Not seeing that cheap of a fare anymore but still available sub $300 from SAN on AA. Cheapest I've ever seen BZE by far.
