Very good fares to Hong Kong, Seoul and Shanghai from the United hubs of Newark, Houston and Cleveland.

Maybe UA will match and it will be worth going for Plat for next year after all. (Don't need any more AA/OW to renew my ExecPlat.)

Did you find these date pairs by happenstance, a lot of tedious searching, or is there a better way I'm unfamiliar with? I've googled/searched for this before but never found a good solution...

Not as good, but I booked SFO-HKG for $688 via DFW, which is still pretty darn good at $0.038/mile. Looks like the fare is still available sporadically for some Monday and mid-week departures.

I booked this for late Sept. It will give me a chance to use my free IHG Cert and the certs for a free weekend night at any Sheraton 
I think knowing a bit about fare construction would help here, but www.travelcodex.com would be a better guide than me at this. Otherwise, I think the best answer, unfortunately, is brute force.
I realize this fare is gone but... Is there any time efficient way to search open jaw's like this? You can't do it using calendar search. The best I can do is the +- 2 days, but that's a lot of guessing and, thus, hit and miss to find a combo of dates at the sale price.
