reverse works out to $420 or 3.1 cpm via MIA.
As a matter of fact, GRU-SFO/DCA/BOS/ORD etc all are around 2.9-3.4 cpm ($405-$430) on AA now through the EOS, same day t/a available. It was interesting to follow these fares last week since both UA and AA had ~$500 fares from GRU to major US cities until UA went up on Saturday. Today AA dropped to low $400 ex GRU. It was $500 last night.

LAX-GRU as low as $513 on DL; AI
I found plenty of availability June-November on a number of combinations via DTW, ATL and JFK at this price of $513; as low as 3.6CPM. For only $689., AA has availability on their new Nonstop service using new 777-300ER; service starts in August.

It's a $160 U.S. Fee for a tourist visa if you take it in yourself. Otherwise add the fee of a third party visa company if the Brazilian Embassy isn't in your state.
For me in AZ it needs to be submitted in person or via a third party in Los Angeles. So adding another $89 in third party fees will kill it for me. Darn sounded like a decent getaway!
