Ua/dl/vx: Sfo-dfw $158 rt

$158 fare is nonstop, slightly more taxes for connections. DL allows ATL or MSP connections.

VX fare is one way ($79), the others require RT purchase.

UA/DL/VX also available from LAX.

VX is also available from DAL - DCA/LGA for same price.

Still there on DL, but costs seem to be fluctuating in real time.

good catch, seems like the best same day routing is SFO-MSP-DFW-ATL-SFO with a nasty redeye to MSP.

First class fare to AUS is the same. This is a pretty normal F fare for the route.

Plenty in October. Not looking at anything else.

FWIW, same $202 from SFO-ATL, but not as good a MR, but still ~4.5 cpm with a couple of stops.

Copied directly from the southwest air flyertalk forum update email I just got that might explain this:

"Virgin America believes it will win two gates at Love field in Dallas and has started a fare war at $79 each way. Southwest has responded with similar fares for travel September 9 through October 29, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays only. Similar fares for SFO (but not OAK), LAX, DCA, and LGA. Sale ends at 10 PM Pacific Time Saturday. Note that Virgin America is offering these fares from October 28 through November 20, but Southwest's schedule does not extend into November."

Or San Francisco.

Unfortunately, I could not convince the other half to visit DFW, so I'm not booking this.
