Great suggestion! Didn't even think about that. I've checked and I can confirm upgrades for both of my two runs. 60k and $300. With the 100% mileage bonus from being platinum I will earn just over 36k miles (60-36=24k miles). As I'm typing this I've convinced myself it's a no brainer to upgrade. Thanks again for the recommendation!

Curious. Is F on the DFW-ANC-DFW route any different then general domestic F? Ex. DFW-HNL-DFW

Same F as domestic just on a 757 instead of the usual MD80 or B738.

So I have no status and have never done a MR before, but my schedule would allow me to do several back to backs for this trip; I saw plenty of availability in June. Would it be absolutely insane to do 10 of these trips in a row, or break it up into 5x2

Same seat as a normal domestic 757 flight, could be either the old leather (22F) or new seat (24F) configuration.

Meal service is enhanced and is similar to transcons-appetizer, three entree choices, sundaes, and cookies before arrival. Return flight is midnight raid service. Of course, this is all subject to change with the hostile takeover.

Really depends on how you define back to back.

At lease you still get 1 afternoon + overnight every two days
Nowhere near as brutal as this one: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/milea...mi-4-0cpm.html

I agree with this. I got my first year of EXP during the TEQM promo and did 3 back-to-back ORD-LAX/SFO-ORD flights at a time. Then I pulled into the airport hotel for some sanity/cleanliness and started all over again. Never got upgraded once, so this was all in coach.

After the first 2 r/ts, I got into the swing of it and it ended up being exhausting but a haze of fun.

Confused, because DFWHNL is definitley different than general domestic F.

DFWANC is a domestic 757 seat, but for catering purposes it is considered a trans-con, so the meal service is stepped up.

Has anyone else done this yet? I have my first trip tomorrow. DFW-BOS. Overnight. BOS-DFW-ANC-DFW same day. Trying to get myself mentally ready. I've done LAX-DFW-LIM-DFW same day and that was on a 767 in C. I'm in domestic F so clearly not the same level. Words of advice??

If you have ever done a domestic transcon BOS/JFK to the west coast in F then its about the same. I did this route twice last Sept and have two more scheduled for this year.

Just have fun with it. I did DCA-DFW-ANC-SEA-ORD-DCA straight through sometime last september. Trip report here. It was fun. Enjoy!

Seems like every year this run shows up for NYC or BOS. No AA love down here in Miami. I would not mind getting away from the Florida heat for a few days. And yes that redeye back on a 757, even in F, is brutal.

Neck pillow. And a really, really good attitude. . Hopefully you have a window seat on the right on the way up to ANC - it's spectacular.

Are you sleeping at the airport or getting a hotel? Some solid sleep in between flights makes all the difference. (Well duh! ).

Have fun!
