UA: BOS/PVD-CLD (Carlsbad, CA) R/T $228ai - [email protected] w/500mi mins. Same day turn

Available Tuesdays throughout March and a few Wednesdays in April. Route BOS/PVD-EWR-LAX-CLD to maximize mileage with 500mi minimums.

6908mi @ 3.30cpm with 500mi minimums

PVD is an option, although you'd have to be on the 5:45am to EWR. BOS has later departures available, plus I've even snagged a late morning CPU to EWR as a silver this year.

I think I'll be doing this 3/4-5 staying overnight; Avis rental car at CLD is $35 after taxes (there is also a Hertz).

Nevermind did not realize return was 757-300

Also while checking the return flight I noticed LAX/EWR is $159 each way

Sweet, couldn't work dates for this, but gave me an idea how to route another flight back to LAX...I mean, CLD

Saved me $80 OW, thanks!

SAN?

Why mention "San Diego," since that airport's code is SAN, not CLD (Carlsbad), and isn't part of the itinerary?

BTW, it is effectively impossible to miss the "connection," since one arrives and departs on the same plane, and one just enters the little terminal, pivots, and reboards the plane.

in my title and post i only mentioned CLD/Carlsbad.

i copy and pasted flight info as a quote directly from ita matrix (google), which lists CLD as "San Diego McClellan-Palomar, CA (CLD)". their quote - not mine.

San Diego resident here. Carlsbad is part of San Diego County but not the city. CLD is a commuter port for San Diego travelers.

There are three (3) airports in the Washington, DC area, and sometimes a search on "WAS" will bring up one, two, or three of them (DCA, IAD, and BWI). But they are in three different states or jurisdictions and 25 or more miles apart, Same thing with the NYC area airport which may come up with a "NYC" search, though there is no NYC airport as such, but rather EWR, JFK, LGA. So why not be specific and note Carlsbad (CLD) for Carlsbad (CLD) to avoid any possible confusion?

feel free to submit your suggestion directly to google. here's that info:

while you're at it, kayak calls the airport "San Diego, CA - Carlsbad-Palomar (CLD)", so you might want to contact them by using this form.

WAS

Just for the record IAD and DCA are both in Va.; BWI in Maryland -- so two different jurisdictions, not three.

Mine definitely isn't the same plane just FYI. I am using a different routing however because of where I'm coming from (MCI-DEN-LAX-CLD). Still a creative option to get home for less which I thank OP bringing to my attention. That CLD flight is basically empty so I don't feel real bad about it (it might get cancelled anyway)
