List of Marriots by Category
Is there a site that lists all Marriot hotels - by Category?
If you go to the Marriot Website and into rewards, and then "Use Points".....you can click on "Convert Points into Free Nights" which brings up a window that allows you to sort and View Hotels in each category.
Only problem is when you try it says "We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again." Been like this for a long time. When I spoke to someone at Marriot rewards, they said there are too many hotels for them to have a sort feature. THEN WHY CONTINUE TO HAVE THE SORT FEATURE (that doesn't work)??
Anyway, is there another link to get a list, by category, of all the hotels?
Thanks in advance

They say they know all about it but it has been a month since I shot them an e-mail.
The best you can do is go by state or country and try to pull up all the properties and then winnow them down from there. Don't forget to use the drop down from Available to All hotels.

We should probably put the 2 links in the FAQs, as it is a pain to find them when doing a search.
Cheers.

BTW - the agent that said there are too many properties to do the search obviously doesn't know it does bring them all up worldwide by category. Misinformed agent.

I know what you're saying (btw - you need to be logged in), but right now there is an error code that comes up when doing search by category.

For example, if I want to see all of the category 1-5 hotels:
http://www.marriott.com/hotel-search...ry4.Category5/
Or all category 1-5 in the US:
http://www.marriott.com/hotel-search...ry4.Category5/
And you can pick and choose:
http://www.marriott.com/hotel-search...ry2.Category4/

Well THAT we can help you with. There are 2 threads that list all the Cat 1-4 & Cat 1-5s in a wiki. I'll try & find the threads.

I don't get an error when using that URL. If you play around with it a bit you will see that they use a predictable pattern for searching by URL too.

When the website worked properly (before the error occurred) you'd get a 'master list at a glance' & could do a quick scroll down the list - ie, it displayed everything so you didn't have do extra clicks state by state or country by country or page by page since Marriott only displays 20 or 40 per page. Example for Cat 5 (truncated due to list being long) when working properly.
"ALABAMA
Florence: Marriott Shoals Hotel & Spa
Montgomery: Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center
Tuscaloosa: Fairfield Inn Tuscaloosa
ALASKA
Fairbanks: SpringHill Suites Fairbanks
.....
GERMANY
Berlin: Courtyard Berlin City Center
Cologne: Courtyard Cologne
Duesseldorf: Renaissance Duesseldorf Hotel
Leipzig: Leipzig Marriott Hotel
INDONESIA
Bali: The Stones Hotel - Legian Bali, Autograph Collection
Seminyak Bali: Courtyard by Marriott Bali Seminyak
ITALY
Naples: Renaissance Naples Hotel Mediterraneo
Rome: Rome Marriott Park Hotel
Turin: AC Hotel Torino
Barga: Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa"
It's not too much to ask of Marriott that as a large corporation with considerable resources that they have their IT dept fix an error on something that's worked properly for years. It's 6 weeks since it has & we know they know of the problem, but they've done nothing to date. And this isn't a case of enhancements & floating pillows; it's an error code.
I've started a thread on Marriott Insiders; maybe that will bring it to someone's attention.

FYI -- Those lists are not complete anyway. It does not disclose all the hotels in a given category within a given area.

Well the rep said she was passing it along and thanked me 're detailed response. I reminded her that I wasn't discussing an enhancement which could go into a queue, but a function that had been available for years and suddenly stopped working. And that it didn't reflect well upon Marriott to have an 'error code' show up for six weeks.
