Autograph Collection adding 11 new properties by year end

From Marriott website:

http://news.marriott.com/2014/10/aut...-year-end.html

The new travel experiences will include the world famous Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas, Triada Palm Springs (Palm Springs, CA), Metropolitan at the 9 Cleveland (OH), four hotels from The Ambassador Collection including locations in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Kansas City, Missouri; Wichita, Kansas; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and four Washington state based hotels who form part of The Davenport Hotel Collection

This season, the Autograph Collection proudly welcomes the following experiences to the portfolio:

Atlantis, Paradise Island - Bahamas
Atlantis is a unique, ocean-themed destination offering a variety of guest accommodations; 40 restaurants, bars and lounges to satisfy any palate; the largest and most exciting casino in The Bahamas; extensive meeting facilities; and a marina capable of handling yachts of any size, all built around a 141-acre waterscape comprised of fresh and saltwater lagoons, pools and habitats. Atlantis rises magically from the turquoise lagoons and blue Atlantic of The Bahamas, and is known worldwide as a resort destination that has truly redefined entertainment and gaming in the tropics. Atlantis marks the collections first member resort in The Bahamas and will be the largest hotel in the portfolio.

Metropolitan at the 9 Cleveland - Ohio
The former AmeriTrust tower and historic Cleveland Trust Rotunda have been transformed into The 9s complex, which now houses the new Metropolitan Hotel and concierge living apartments for local residents. The Metropolitan Hotel is located inside The 9 and features 156 boldly designed rooms and suites. Adega, the hotels restaurant features a15-foot wine vault, chefs table and the largest outdoor dining patio in the city. During the week, The 9s historic bank vaults are used as unique meeting rooms. Located in the basement of the rotunda, there are four historic bank vaults. Inside the extremely large, circular steel-and-glass doors, there are safety deposit rooms that formally belonged to famous Clevelanders. The historic underground vault space has been transformed into the probation-era cocktail bar, Vault, where locals and guests can enjoy a one-of-a-kind cocktail experience. Completely separated from Vault, there is an exclusive speakeasy where travelers can visit by exclusive invitation only. Guests looking for a drink with a view can visit Azure, 150 feet above the street and the largest rooftop bar and sundeck in the city.

Triada Palm Springs - California
Triada Palm Springs is an elegant Spanish hacienda featuring 56 unique guest rooms in the prestigious Movie Colony of Downtown Palm Springs. Offering majestic views of the San Jacinto Mountains, guests will be inspired mind, body and soul. With the meaning, three interrelated parts in Spanish, Triada is designed to reflect three distinct wings of the hotel where every corner reveals a new discovery, every pathway becomes an exploration and every detail provides a new source of inspiration.

The Ambassador Collection - Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas
The Ambassador Hotel Collection is known for its extensive restoration of historic buildings to their original grandeur while at the same time creating upscale luxury boutique hotel experiences. This season, four Ambassador Collection hotels will join the collection in Kansas City, Mo., Wichita, Kan., Tulsa, Okla and Oklahoma City, Okla. Each of the acclaimed hotels represents a balance of historic splendor and modern comfort. The Ambassador Hotel Collection appeals to discerning travelers who seek the very best in contemporary sophistication, refined hospitality and a splash of historic elegance.

The Davenport Hotel Collection Washington State
The Davenport Hotel Collection includes the landmark Davenport Hotel which features architecture and history dating back to 1914, and a reputation as the regions grandest hotel. The nearby Davenport Tower Hotel and Hotel Lusso help round out the new additions to the portfolio, representing an elegant union of new and historic hotels located right in the heart of downtown Spokane, Washington. With a fourth location set to open in 2015 the Grand Hotel Spokane, located and connected to the Spokane Convention Center, the Davenport Hotel Collection represents a broad spectrum of hotel experiences ranging from classic to contemporary, historic to modern.

Triada is showing on Marriott website. Says it's opening Oct 2014, but nothing showing available. A few weird dates available in Nov, and fully available in Dec. Cat 7 property.

Metropolitan at the 9 in Cleveland is showing availability as of today, although no formal announcement other than what's listed above. Cat 6 property.

I created a separate thread yesterday for the Ambassador, Wichita Autograph Collection. When you stay there after it opens under the Marriott umbrella, please do a trip report in that thread. Thx!

No, Atlantis isn't coming up on Marriott website at all. I'm guessing that's because the legal stuff isn't done yet (just a guess, but that happened with some other properties - Ambassador Opera in Paris for example).

Cheers.

The Atlantis is going to be a great place for earning points if they allow credit for F&B. The rates there for everything are INSANE.

It's like $12.00 for a cup of coffee and a Wall Street Journal is around $8.00.

I also think the resort fee is also charged per person and not per room.

Yes, I'm over-exaggerating, but not by much.

If they do. But doesn't the Cosmo exclude F&B with the exception of very few venues within its property? (going from vague recollection of reading the long thread). Atlantis might do the same (but hopefully not).

Cheers.

Autograph collections normally Don't have exec lounges since they are boutique hotels. You'll get breakfast because t that's about it. Some properties do a bot more bit it's property specific.

Cheers.

Thanks.
I'm usually in for one night and catch a criminally early flight the next morning, so I doubt breakfast will be available when I leave.
I'll give the property a try and see how it goes.
