Lounge, located on the ground floor, ("Club Maxwell") is closed on the weekends for evening munchies/drinks, but is open for breakfast.
Rooms have desks. Pictures of room & exec lounge in post #29.
Meals/drinks at nearby House of Blues & Harry Carey's can be charged to room.

The Blackstone, Autograph Collection, Chicago, IL [Master Thread]
Originally, when the new Renaissance Blackstone in Chicago was going to open, I read locally (here in Chicago), the hotel would have two lounges; one for the elites and a second only for those staying on the executive floors. Additionally, the 'spread' at the lounge on the executive was supposed to be much nicer.
Can anyone verify this one way or another? Also, is either lounge open on the weekends? I have a last minute stay there coming up quickly and and wondered whether it be worth the dollars to pay for an executive floor room.

Any report on the Presidential Suite at the Blackstone?
I have an upcoming stay at the Blackstone in Chicago. I looked at my reservation and it shows an upgrade to the Presidential Suite.
Anyone have any report on what this suite is all about?
Any upgrade is appreciated very much. I plan on taking plenty of pictures and doing a report on FT after my stay.

Better than PP even. DH has stayed at least 4 times. We always have to practically beg for even a river view.
If you really got the "smoke filled room"; it is very cool. We took a tour of it.

I was given a huge suite on the 23rd floor for a one-night stay a few months back. It was awesome... 20'-30' ceiling, 2 skylights with automated shade, huge platform bed, decorated very nicely. Was probably about 1200 sq ft. I don't recall the room #.
Anything on the 23rd is going to be really nice. Definitely take pictures.
This is one of favorite hotels... stayed about 40 nights last year and will probably do about 30 this year.

Hey All!
Just got back from the Blackstone. I bought a flip video camera to document the "Smoke Filled Room" experience. Once i get it uploaded to a public site I will post the link.

The Awaited Video Has Arrived!
I want to apologize for my lack of cinematography skills and poor narration abilities.
The video was taken with my Flip video camera and happened to be my first feature film.
Hopefully, you enjoy the video as much as my family enjoyed the suite.

Thanks, this looks great! I have a stay at the Blackstone scheduled for March 6-9, and they've upgraded me to one of the lake view suites on floors 20-23. Hopefully the presidential suite will be vacant one day so I can get an in-person tour.

Nice tour... thanks for posting. Hope you enjoyed your stay.
From looking at the pictures from Marriott's website, it looks like the room I had on the 23rd floor was the Heaven's Suite, which I think I would prefer... although the Presidential Suite has a lot of history going for it and would be fun to stay in it.
