I completed a stay in May.
Its nice to see the same people at checkin and at the C-lounge.
The hotel was tipped off by the Plat Premier desk that this stay covered my birthday.
I was supprised with a cake and candles.
I plan on returning this year. Its nice when you find a property that makes you feel so welcome that you want to return again and again.

How is it?
Sorry for the late posting.
The beach sucks and the town smells bad. But, If you are going to be in the area, this is the property to stay.
Great breakfast, real C-lounge food, nice pool, and the nicest hotel staff.
Take a trip to Jotemin Beach.

Pattaya (Thailand) Any discounts or Deals?
Planning on visiting Pattaya with my friend in Nov/Dec for 5 days or so and then moving back to BKK. I'm kinda unfamiliar with Marriott discount codes or deals other than MEB. Are there any codes or promotions I can use for my upcoming trip there?
Thanks in advance.
Ole.

I have seen good deals on asiahotels.con for the Pattaya Marriott.
If you have points the Pattaya Marriott is Cat 3(?).
I stay on a GOV rate for US106.00.
This is expensive for Pattaya but the resort is worth it.
I think the Hard Rock Hotel is priced arounfd the same and they usually do have specials.

Although I have not stayed there for 3 years I have stayed there several times. The location is very good the Main entrance is on Second Road but you can either use the side entrance close to the swimming pool to get stright onto the beach road (handy if you are in the Garden Wing) or walk through the adjacent shopping mall to get to Beach Road.
The swimming pool area is large and the pool is similar to the one at the JW Phuket. IMHO the money they spent on the pool would have been better spent on the rooms.
The lounge is (or was) quite small, but they did give you the option of the full breakfast in the Marriott Cafe. The evening snacks used to be very good with a reasonable choice of free booze.
I will be interested on any updates as I plan to go back there in January.
Regards
John

I have stayed at this property a few times over the years. The rooms are quite nice.
The pool is excellent 2nd only to the Hard Rock Hotel.
The lounge kicks as*. You can make a meal out of the spread they put out and the food is awsome.
The hotel sent a b-day cake to my room.
Can't go wrong with this property.

Walking out of the property is the KFC area where the local hookers congregate unless you want to cross the street for further "samples".
The Hard Rock is now unofficially called Gay Rock.[QUOTE=rebadc;8704867]What action are you refering to

Pattaya beach is a zoo and not as beautiful as other beaches in thailand. While the Marriott is quite close to it (2 min walk) i would strongly suggest renting a scooter or use one of the mini buses to drive to jomtien beach next to pattaya for a more relaxed beach atmosphere. However to be honest if it has to be a beach location and a marriott within thailand i would stay away from pattaya and go to phuket instead.
