Starting June 22, 2013 in the US & Canada, Gold, Platinum & Platinum Premier elites will receive continental breakfast daily in the executive lounge.

For each day (not stay) the lounge is closed, these members will have the option of breakfast for 2 in the Restaurant or 750 points (1,000 points in select locations). The same applies if there is no lounge at a JW Marriott®, Autograph Collection®, Renaissance® or Marriott® Hotel.

In Europe, hotels without a lounge offer a choice of breakfast for two in the restaurant or 750 points daily (change as of July 2014)

These Elites will be given a card at check-in to pick continental breakfast or the points.

In addition, changes to the Platinum arrival gift:

The new standard Platinum arrival gift will be the choice between 500 points or a $10 food and beverage coupon to be used during your stay. A hotel can offer additional amenities, but they must offer points or the $10 F&B credit at the minimum.

The Platinum arrival gift change is for US/Canada only. Int'l properties will continue to offer 500 points or food/drink amenity.

Courtyard is still redheaded stepchild

"Marrriott's elite customers — in addition to The Ritz-Carlton Rewards gold and platinum members — can get their daily breakfasts at participating JW Marriott, Autograph Collection, Renaissance and Marriott hotels in the U.S. and Canada. Previously, they got breakfast on weekdays."

No CY expansion. CY will continue to be low on my list of "to go" properties.

I have a feeling they will be, since the published resort exclusion hasn't been limited to the US/Canada

True. Otherwise they would have to be opened to all 7 days at resorts.

750 points per day adds up (I assume it's per day), I would probably take that and grab a coffee and muffin at Starbucks/Peet's etc when I'm working.

Me: Good news from @MarriottIntl usat.ly/10KaSDc

MarriottIntl: @iztoku We're looking forward to these exciting changes--thank you for sharing!

Me: @MarriottIntl Love the breakfast on weekends in most brands. I also see @CourtyardHotels are still redheaded step child however

MarriottIntl: @iztoku We've shared your feedback with Courtyard's management team. We value your loyalty to our hotels and always welcome your thoughts!

For weekends with family it certainly makes a difference.

During business week trip I like it but don't care much as I can expense it if needed.

if the USA Today article is read, it specifically limits the continental breakfast to the G/P member along with a (single) guest..............
I wonder if the props will offer full breakfast for a supplement???
