Another venue to spend your $200 VisaGCs from Best Buy

If ya'll have Aldi grocery store, you can use the VGCs issued by MB from BestBuy (got the reward for buying these from amex special offers). Since Aldi does not accept CCs (only cash and DCs), this serves as venue to spend a $200 GC for your groceries. I changed the PIN rather than use the last 4 digits of card. I forgot to check if I can get CB, but next time I will

I forgot to check if I can get CB
Actually, no.

Actually, no.
I'm pretty sure I got cash back in the past from ALDI in NY

There is actually a grocery store that doesn't take credit cards?

Yes, surprisingly. Aldi does not take credit cards so they can 'pass the savings' onto you

I used a MC GC today at Aldi and the register declined when I tried cash back. I was able to get $100 cash back w/ the same card at another grocery store.

If you have to shop at aldi, do you really belong in the MS game?

Oh please. Much of Aldi's produce is qualitatively indistinguishable from that found for much higher prices at other stores. Shopping at Aldi is way more respectable than running around with a pocket full of money orders purchased with prepaid gift cards.

IIRC, I think they will also take CC as long as you're willing to pay the CC surcharge.

no surcharges if you're paying with bank DC though, but I found out that those VGCs with PIN issued by MB are accepted by their registers. I have no experience using those issued by Bancorp or other FIs. Will report if getting CB is successful when I shop next week. But should anyone try and succeed with those BB VGCs, please let us know. TIA

Translation: "I shop at Aldi because I'm broke. Please stop making fun of me."
