Economy PROMO FARE with OW STATUS
Hi Everyone,
I just booked a flight on MH on promo fare, I try to select my seat but it seems i need to pay for it even I put my QR Number (OW Emerald)
Is it normale ?

Unfortunately so. It's free at check-in though (48 hours before departure).

I think it works through the app.

It may 'require' you to pay but you may just get zero payment required at check out.

Sorry for reviving old thread, are there any other issues to look out for on these economy promo fares? Can see that N class doesn't attract tier points with BA (5 TPs for KUL-REP isn't worth the extra MYR90), but presume I'm not going to be refused lounge access or extra baggage as Oneworld Emerald

No.

MH doesn’t discriminate against the lower fare buckets when it comes to elite benefits. No BA-style HBO fares to worry about

Is there any way to pre-select seats for free on a promo fare? I'm oneworld Sapphire, and OW Elites should have access to pre-reserved seating, but the website insists on charging me Thanks!

From what I remember, MH only allows you to pre-select (regular) seats in advance for free with OW Emerald (and even with this, it may be necessary to phone the call centre to do it). :-(

of course. All MH fares come with free baggage allowance of at least 20kg.

Yeah, this isn't a budget airline so you get your full Oneworld elite benefits no matter what class of fare you purchase. O is the cheapest fare class FYI.

and you also get your extra baggage allowance.

KUL-SIN would be 30 kg (international allowance) and with your QF Gold (OWS) status, you are admitted an additional 15 kg of luggage totalling up to 45 kg.
