You mean.... limit others viewing inside?
It's not exactly going to be a high-rise with unlimited views of the Tokyo skyline....

seem to recall seeing a rendering of room view

online reservations from late july, not sure if its a special offer or not working right
~80m2 corner rooms are interesting, also mentions each floor has common lounge

Yeah, but it's going to be a ryokan. Don't know about everyone else, but after one or two nights max at a ryokan, I am willing to kill for a regular bed!

The bed at the Hoshinoya Kyoto was ridiculously comfortable.

Tokyo Top Hotel Options?

Hi everyone,

I'm very close in completing the last reservation of our future honeymoon trip, actually its all booked but as always, time creates doubts... and in Tokyo is where I'm stuck (last stopover before getting back on the west coast)

The idea is to book any of the following on Cash + Points:

- Park Hyatt
- Hyatt Regency
- Grandy Hyatt
- The Ritz Carlton
- The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo, Autograph Collection
- Conrad
- Hilton Tokyo

I'm a Hyatt GP Diamond so the goal would be to get a Suite Upgrade for the Parky Hyatt but I've been pestering their call center for weeks and it is constantly unavailable. Park Hyatt was my first choice.

Should that not work, which other of the above would you recommend?

Trying to splurge the future wife in a bit of luxury, and we are foodies, love cocktails and nightlife.
I've never been to Tokyo so not sure which area would fit best either. Thought Shinjuku was the place to be, but the Ritz and Sakura are only 20min away, so don't mind not being right in the middle of the action if Park Hyatt doesn't pan out.

As also a Marriott Gold and Hilton Diamond, what are the chances of a comp'd upgrade to a Suite at their properties? Access to Executive/Club Lounge/Rooms?

I read very good reviews of all the properties listed, so at this point its a matter of location or?

Couldn't find another thread on FT where these specific properties are discussed in comparison.
Thanks in advance.
Leo

P.S. Found this thread here that is about Japan. I should have probably posted my question in there... if any moderator could move this there it would be great. Thanks!

When the suites are booked it's of no use to call constantly, simply check the website for availability. And only if an entry level suite is available call....

I second that, having just stayed at the Ritz-Carlton and visited the Andaz.

If you are planning a long stay, you could also check for suite availability on each individual day, and see if there is any way to structure your stay around what is available.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what is the likelihood of RC Tokyo honoring what appears to be an error rate? I booked an Executive Suite in late October for 68k yen/nt for four nights (this is the going rate for a regular room).

If it is likely they will cancel, I'd prefer to stay at Mandarin.
