FS New York Downtown now taking reservations

Four Seasons New York Downtown, 27 Barclay Street, is now taking reservations for stays beginning 17OCT. Preferred Partner amenities are applicable, but FS no longer permits FSPP agents to post those amenities online. But I think I can tell you that it's the standard set of amenities and that a F&B credit is not the extra amenity.

There's a 20% off promo if you book by June 30, 3016, inclusive of FSPP amenities.

Eh, I won't say what they are, but those aren't really them. Or, that's not "all" of them

Was just sent this link, walk-through of a Tribeca Suite: https://www.periscope.tv/FourSeasons/1OdJrbOXjnpJX

Better than I excepted, especially since it is Yabu/Pushelberg. Their last NY hotel project (Park Hyatt) is such a disappointment, which also includes some design aspects unfortunately. Such cold, sterile hotel.

I expect FS Downtown to be the better FS in NY.

web reservations from sep 26? wonder re rates of top 2 (tribeca and royal)

re existing FS - they did not get rid of the 2 studios on 50th floor did they?
theyre finishing up renovations, some categories have specific corner views
fewer rooms after renovations i think, and of course during the renovations
currently says 368 rooms excluding that, vs FS downtown's 189 + condos

Excited to see this in person. The FS uptown (for lack of a better description) has been getting more buzz lately because of the ups and downs of its restaurants than the hotel itself, that's telling.

I quite like the public areas, but not too keen on the room/suite designs. Not as bad as most Yabu Pushelberg designs, though!

Is FS Downtown worth it?

Is the Downtown location worth it if you are seeing Broadway? I love The Four Seasons Hotel looks there and the dining there. But NYC Traffic is really bad what to do? Park Hyatt to even Central Park was really awful.

Depends on what you want to do for the majority of your time, but if you're heading to NYC mostly for Broadway, would probably recommend somewhere further uptown. The Park Hyatt, MO and Trump (and PH is closest amongst those) are going to be the closest luxury hotels to Times Sq/Theater District. That said, the FS Downtown is right off the subway line that also goes to Times Sq, and it is 10-12min from that stop to Times Sq.

I find the Tribeca area where the FS Downtown is located to be one of the most fun in NYC these days.
