All the talkings about Aman are really worrying me. I've discovered Aman more than 15 years ago and will remember for ever the impression I've had when I went to Kila. From that day, I've returned every year to an Aman, mainly at Kila and Jiwo which are my two favorite Aman. I've been lucky to discover a few others: Taka, sara, fayun, summer palace, noi, jena, nusa... and it has been almost perfect every time. Aman had the perfect combinaison of offering to the guests architecture, design, service and very implicated and passionated GM. For some, Aman was not up to the standards we can expect from a five stars because in the oldest properties, there was no TV in the room, a very limited fitness center, no spa or just a room turned into a spa but sincerely, I don't think it was annoying at all because there was something beyond all these facilities, there was a strong character in every property, a sensational atmosphere of being in one of the most exclusive place of the world, a strong taking care and implication of every single GM because there was a DNA we were able to find only in the Aman families.
Mr Zecha is now away of the development of the brand he has created with an unparalleled talent and I have to say I'm so worried about the future of Aman. I hope it will be not like GHM and see every property going out of the portfolio. I really hope as well the new CEO and associates will realize how it is important to keep the identity of the group. Regretfully, the new GMs, if I trust the latest reviews, are not very implicated in the guests satisfaction, they're not as close as before making of an Aman staff, something more like a family than an hotel team. There are still a few GMs who are amazing like Mark at Nusa, Sally at Sara, Gary at Taka or Sean at Noi but for how long??? All these people are amazing and still provide the best of the Aman philosophy but I just hope the new management will do not push them away to place people without feeling and Aman culture...

Amandayan is the latest Aman but at this stage, not many reports or pictures. Even on the website, there is not so many informations and no photo album. If somebody has more pictures or had an experience in the latest Aman, I'd be curious to know because I'm planning to go soon.
Nicolas, the GM, seems to be quite nice but again, I hope he has the Aman blood in his narrows because if not, it will be hard for me to love this property.
I'll be soon at Kila where I'll discover how the new GM is taking care of my favorite Aman. I've a good feeling after communicating quite a lot with her but I dont like to see so many different GMs in such a short time... T. Atherton has beautifully managed Kila for 9 years, C. Schwarze was doing a good job before moving to Venice and now, it will be the turn of S. Watermann to do her best to maintain this Aman at the highest level. Let's see in september

Ah, that's interesting indeed: Some years ago, GHM announced Chedi Taiping Lake, in Anhui Province, China near Mt. Huangshan (see page 1 of this thread), but then took it off their website again. So maybe the same grounds?

re last couple posts >
http://www.greenlandhk.com/uploadfil...ss/p071014.pdf
greenland acquired majority of SPG Land Co in 2013 (then renamed)
looking at financials/etc, not seeing mention of dropping chedi suzhou
cant recall what all was posted/released re the taiping master plan
that went to peninsula hotel/residences/etc
so i wonder re 'new' aman shanghai above "70 rooms French concession"
(also SPG Land >)
http://www.tfb.com.au/suzhou.htm#
chedi suzhou had interior work being done back in 2012
if above fraser suites, was part of it incorporated into fraser?
some GHM history >

SPG Land has also announced that the Group has entered into a letter-of-intention for a strategic cooperation with Amanresort to develop premium resort hotels under the Amanresort brand in the Group’s existing Huangshan Taiping Lake Resort project.

30-pavillion Aman luxury hotel (operation expected to initiate in 2018, assuming funding is secured in 2016
6 Aman Suites and 29 villas
On 6 April 2015, Kea Resort received its final construction permit, following the issuance of a Construction Approval (the first of a two stage Construction Permit process which was recently enacted in Greece on 12 February 2015).
hotel’s construction can begin as soon as the construction execution drawings are completed as the final construction permit has now been received, but remains subject to finalising the funding package
On 18 March 2015, the Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a renowned international resort investor relating to a potential €20 million equity investment in the project, in return for a 50% shareholding stake in the Kea Resort. Should this investment reach a binding agreement, the Company’s interest in the project would be reduced to c.34%

heah 33% + dolphin 67% (approximately)
seems MoU cuts both their stakes in half
to: heah 16% + dolphin "c.34%" + ? 50%

Just found out - there isn't one. Same combination as before.
