Resuscitating this thread to note the addition of Kleopatre at Le Bristol, a little friend to keep Fa-Raon company. I met her last month, and renewed my friendship with Fa-Raon.

We'll be seeing Edie again next week.
Go Giants!
Edie, Canine Ambassador
Meet Edie, Fairmont Pittsburgh's Canine Ambassador. Edie welcomes guests in the lobby and helps those who miss canine companionship when traveling feel more at home. Edie is a 5-year old boxer/labrador retriever who began training in the assistant dog program at Circle Tail, Inc. as a puppy. After completing over a year of training, Edie’s friendly and outgoing personality proved to be better suited to the hospitality industry where she gets to meet new people every day.

In addition to a boxer that can be seen in post #9 there's a jack russell mix at Il San Pietro this year and she loves to run along the edge of the hotel's famous terrace (not for the faint of heart!), followed by taking an elevator down to the beach and making a stop at the tennis court to see if there are some tennis balls to play with.
Here she is from this morning. See if you can find her:

Thank you. Seeing pictures of this place 10 years ago also did the trick for me. Happy to report that it's still spectacular (even if I don't care for the blue on main terrace). Had two beautiful dinners at Monastero Santa Rosa but I'll use an appropriate thread for that one.

In response to post # 23 regarding the Blantyre:
Page cannot be found. Does that mean the dog died?
BTW the Observatory Hotel in Sydney (former Orient Express property) has goldfish.....and Nicollet Island Inn in Minneapolis (not quite luxury, but very nice historic property located on a small island in the Mississippi across a pedestrian bridge from downtown) has a cat or two, which seems to prefer certain rooms, a window near the lobby, and the restaurant's bar.
