The Hansar Bangkok

With kindness, Khun Tom (Worawee Buttramara), Hansar Front Office Manager, allowed his assistant, Khun Bobby, to escort me on a tour of this great hotel this afternoon. In turn, Khun Bobby was gracious enough to take her time as we had a great 2-hour hotel tour that included all the five suite types, the spa, the gym, the pool, the rooftop, the restaurants, and other lobby and public spaces. This is an ultra modern luxury all-suites hotel that reminds me of the Banyan Tree Bangkok but the only difference is this is a brand new property with a ultra modern design that is "not cheap".

Khun Tom informed me that all suites come with WIFI and breakfast. Happy hour or “Hansar Hour”(as Hansar means happy) is 5-8pm at VUE bar 50% discount on beverage and from 6-8pm at Café Boca 50% discount on fresh pastries.

I'll do a more detailed tour report as soon as I get back home. In the mean time, please enjoy the following hotel photos taken today:

I hope the mods will appreciate this exciting new property as a unique luxury one and as such will allow this separate thread as the master thread for this hotel. Please feel free to ask for contact information for the above mentioned hotel staff. Thank you.

In addition to the packages found periodically at http://www.luxurylink.com/luxury-hot...kok?clid=11114 the hotel is making the following offer:

Special pre-opening rate of THB 4,500++ per suite/night is offered by the hotel. The rate is subject to 10% service charge and 7%VAT. Daily breakfast for two (2) and internet access is inclusive in the offer. The special pre-opening rate is valid until 31 October 2011. I have a PDF version of the hotel's brochure, please PM me with your email address if you need a copy or contract Alissa Tangsanga, Corporate Sales Manager at [email protected]

Thanks Kalboz for the photos and links. The Hansar looks somewhat uncomfortable to me,I'm not sure why.I just don't find it appealing. I like the look of The Siam Hotel though : http://thesiamhotel.com/

You are very welcome paul2 ...

I guess to each his own ... my photos might not done the place any justice as I used a point & shoot camera and was pressed for time ... but truly the luxurious Hansar and its dramatic suites filled me with feelings of awe and peace.

To get the most of the suites' photos I posted on Flickr.com, start viewing from the bottom of the Flickr set and work your way up. It's best viewed using the "Slide Show" feature on the upper right had side of the web page.

As for the Siam Hotel, the website looks very nice for a promising new luxury property riverside. Would you do the tour, photos, review in a new thread?

Thanks,I'm not familiar with Flickr and rarely take a camera with me when I travel and if I do I usually lose it somewhere!

No! I will probably wait to read about it in the Gallivanters guide who have it in their sights.

It looks like they are set up also from the hotel from Long-term leases- this may be easier to manage from an accounting perspective than directly from an owner for invoicing etc (i.e. company-company vs via an individual).

I agree. The Hansar is not somewhere I would put on my must-go list. The attention to detail & quality of everything appear a little too 4-star for me, like so many new properties in BK that profess to be high-end.

4-star property? Hardly accurate ... the WGS and the likes are 4 star properties and this hotel Sir is a league above those 4 star hotels.

I visited this property and was very impressed at how no-holds-barred and no expense was spared to complete it. Regardless, the service provided would make or break the rating expectation and I would keep an open mind and hear from the FTers who will report back to evaluate this hotel soon ...
