Great Beaches near Colombo, Sri Lanka

I am going to Colombo for business and am looking for a 5* hotel with an excellent beach within 2 hours of Colombo. Does anyone have any ideas?

Amanwella, but it is a bit more than 2 hours by car. There is an air taxi service from Colombo to near Amanwella.
