Las Ventanas and Los Cabos Resorts, Baja California, closed due to hurricane damage

So sad about the damage Hurricane Odile caused in Los Cabos this week. Unfortunately, Las Ventanas will be closed for 3 or 4 weeks. For anyone looking for a substitution, Four Seasons Punta Mita has space available and saved the day for clients. 3rd and 5th night free promotion available at FS as well -- and Preferred Partner benefits.

Best wishes to all in the Los Cabos area.

Hope everyone in Cabo is safe! I wanted to share the below message from Las Ventanas' website:
"In advance of Hurricane Odile’s arrival, we were able to safely move our guests to a secure location in the United States. We can confirm that no guests or employees of the resort were physically harmed by the storm. We are currently fully assessing the damage caused by Odile. Until then, Las Ventanas will remain closed. We will provide another update on Monday, September 22, and we look forward to welcoming guests back to our Paraíso."

Sounds unnecessarily secretive but I am glad they were proactive about it!

They're not being secretive; the destruction was very severe and it isn't as simple as reporting on hurricane aftermaths in Florida. Developments/golf courses have been sending out updates as much as they can but telecommunications/electrical infrastructure was destroyed and the people that are being relied upon for the updates have their own families and homes to worry about as well.

Here's a video of the destruction on the corridor between Palmilla and into San José. I recommend muting it. http://youtu.be/XqwwTwuTNTM

I just meant the wording about a "secure" location. I understand it has been a terrible ordeal trying to get people out on whatever flights they can get on.

cdmca, "secure" from hurricane ("safe" would not be accurate)

various luxury hotels have chartered air transportation in the past
