Well, as my mother's Learn German on Your Own from the middle of the last century says: "Ich bin nicht krank, aber müde."
So I didn't really notice what you refer to. Moreover when you are multilingual and catch a glimpse of a text in a language you do not know, your brain makes synapses in those various languages you do know, trying to make sense of a bunch of letters and recognise in them words in a familial language.
