At the same time they will be moving the 777 to operate the night flight out of LHR (and morning flight back from TLV) with both other daily flights operating with the A321.
Well. BA 167 operated out of LHR at 10.55 and that was optimal. Good news that the third flight comes back, but I would rather have it earlier.

What loss? LX continues to have real C on ZRH-TLV, either on A333 or A343.

If you booked C and got a 320 then its a loss. When you board you probably don't care that 90% of the flights have real C.

It's infuriating when they sub - I agree. But BA_Jfan said, "what a loss" and "LX was one of the last carriers..." implying that the switch to A320 is a permanent switch. I was disagreeing with that sentiment

Mrs. SFO laughed when I gave her the option of LH's phony short-haul Euro J class to TLV.
So we're on United pmCO J to TLV and then a creative LY real J from TLV-FRA (AA miles) connecting back to DEN in LH First (M&M miles). No way would I fly S/H LH on a 4+ hour route.

An article in Globes interviewing a VP from Turkish Airlines about how they are the largest foreign carrier out of TLV:

The most interesting part: "the downgrading of Lufthansa's business class on its Tel Aviv route contributed a great deal, and brought us many passengers."

+1. The most common language spoken in IST Lounge was German - for a time. Until TK and LH decided to go shrink their respective mileage accrual to 25% of actual miles, even in C.

For me, back to BA (TXL LHR TLV redeye). Only decent intra-european redeye TLV - you can actually grab 4+ of sleep in C.

Oh, how I miss the days when you flew in late to ZRH and were able to consistently sleep on the 340 instead of Camping in a 321. Also, TLV used to be very last departure out of ZRH airport - that in itself provided a certain kick.

Having flown TK between TLV and the US multiple times, I am a huge fan of their product. Their short haul business cabin from TLV-IST is a very solid product for a 2 hour flight.

LH's NEK change turned out to be an economical stimulus package for other airlines operating to Egypt and Israel!
Well done LH, strengthening competition abroad!

LH is deploying their widebodies to other destinations and getting a decent yield from them too. The A32S flying to TLV are also pretty full. Competition seems to be happy too... all around!

And their A340/744s before to/from TLV were also getting a nice, full yield

Not really, if you read the article posted somewhere here. Full yes, but not profitable.
