Hotels on the Strip for single guy early 30's

I will be visiting Vegas solo in mid-July and looking for hotel recommendations on the Strip. This will be a mid-week trip. Not my first time in Vegas but will be my first time staying on the Strip. My budget is flexible with regards to room rates.

Here is the criteria:
  • Upscale room
  • Relaxing pool (not a party scene)
  • Convenient access to the Strip

I welcome any thoughts and suggestions!

Thanks

Bellagio and Caesars Palace. If doing Bellagio, book through AMEX FHR.

Cosmopolitan or Wynncore.

Wynncore might be considered a bit far up on the strip but makes it up by being right in your demographic.

In my experience Bellagio is a bit more families and older people these days.

I'd say Aria if you want mellow; Cosmopolitan is probably more fun but pools won't be as laid back. I would not recommend Bellagio. Caesars yes.

Keep in mind that Cosmo has three pools, with differing ambience:

Venetian - with nice suite-type rooms, lovely pool, many restaurant and bar choices, nice vibe.

For a single guy? To meet women? You want Hard Rock. Or Palms.

You do not want Bellagio or Venetian.

Aria is fine and is one of my faves, but solely because it's in the middle. It is not a party hotel for singles but allows you to be near many other hotels and is quite new.

Flyertalk has broken out in a rash of not paying attention to the question asked by the original poster. First-timer "nineration" specifically said he wants an upscale room, a relaxing pool without a party scene, and easy access to the strip. Palms and Hard Rock might provide nice rooms but are utter fails at his second and third specs. Other posters who suggest upscale strip properties are on the ball.

BTW, welcome to Flyertalk, nineration. Best of luck on your quest.

I suggest the Venetian or Palazzo. I stayed at the Venetian last October (traveling solo as well) and found the location very good. The pool area is great. Would say the average poolside age was around early 30's, but might differ on the calendar date.

Been a while since i stayed there but you might also look at the Four Seasons. It is a bit south though. My favorite is the Mandarin Oriental through amex FHR if a casino is not required. Aria is closest casino.

Based on your age and criteria, definitely the Cosmo.

Yep. Bamboo pool has a pretty relaxing atmosphere. Even the noisiness/rowdiness at Boulevard pool tends to vary greatly depending on location.

Just depends what the OP means by "upscale".

Very true.

For a single guest, i really like the Cosmo Terrace 1 Bedroom - separate seating area, and especially for the Japanese soaking tub - VERY relaxing after a long day.

Have booked Double Tree by Hilton being diamond. Hope its going to make the cut, with some friends. Looks near the Strip. Quite cheap, but looks good.

There is more than one Hilton property advertising itself as a Doubletree...what street address?
