Very Early flight from LAS - check in time

Very Early flight from LAS - check in time
I have a 5:45 am departure from McCarran to Chicago (United).
With consideration to the early time, security, checked baggage etc... what is the latest I can safely show up at the United counter or kiosk?
I also am dropping off a rental beforehand.

Most airlines dont even "open" until 4:30. Id just try to be there 4:30-4:45 at the ticket counter to check your bag.
Where are you staying? Why not drop off the car the night before then use an airport shuttle? Why not change your last night so you stay at an airport hotel with a shuttle?

Good to know that I can arrive at 4:30.
We are comp'd at the Orleans and our group is pretty organized so we will drop off the rental early and shuttle to the airport.

You will need to take the terminal #3 shuttle from rental to check baggage. Then to terminal 1 for the flight.

If you are going to use a hotel shuttle in the AM---make sure you are reserved on it by having your names on a list.
