Priceline - not using Las Vegas winning bid

*mods, of course feel free to move to Las Vegas or...? ....if that is more appropriate.

I was out rebidding on PL and jacked myself on rebidding the Summerlin zone. oops! ha!

I'm a winner (loser) - weekend rate in Summerlin at the Red Rock Casino Resort for Friday 3/30 & Saturday 3/31.
$107pn + taxes/fees = $250.68 for 2 nights.

. . . . . I'm very likely going to take a loss on this as we intended to book ~somewhere on the strip with the rest of our party.

Priceline is of course non-transferable but if someone is interested in taking these two nights I'm happy to add your name to the reservation and I will be in town late on the 30th to check-in if absolutely needed.

. . . .I love my wife, she has been gracefully understanding of my blunder (as long as I don't try to win it all back gambling, hahahaha).

Call priceline customer service and escalate to their supervisor. Tell them you made this zone in error and they will refund with a $25 service charge. I've done it before.

Thanks - ....struck out on that also. I was on the line, polite and accepting the responsibility of the error and the supervisor was firm that this particular reservation has 'extensive restrictions that do not allow for them to cancel, not even with a penalty'.

ugh....thanks for the idea though.

Really? I've done it before multiple times, but haven't done it in a while. If you say you just want a refund for the sake of the hotel, they won't budge, but if you say you didn't want that zone, like you don't remember clicking that zone or something, they should refund unless their policy changed recently.

Yep, really !! I was polite, friendly, never angry, never raising my tone. Admitted to selecting the wrong zone and said I don't mind paying a penalty to cancel. I was on the line (trans/escalated the request) to 3 different people and none would budge.

Bummer for me !

I agree Red Rock is quite nice. Recall last October when staying there that they ran shuttles a number times a day to the Mall on the Strip at Spring Mountain.

Thanks guys... unfortunately we're not using it so, if there are any FT's out there that want to take this I'm happy to add your name to the reservation.
Ideally we'd use it but with the kids, they are definitely wanting the pool experience so we're heading back over to the MonteCarlo for that reason, and being on the Strip.
*pool time during the day and the kids haven't been to Vegas before so it is shows and "lights" (getting the Strip experience the first time out)....thanks for all the advice - it is greatly appreciated.

P.S.-
The pool at the Red Rock is currently being refinished and although they expect it to be done this next week they are unsure at this time. The Cabana Club pool is open.

Wow, I'm impressed with your easy going attitude about the whole thing. One of my worst fears in bidding in a zone I don't want. I'm always extra careful and somewhat paranoid and I know that I will eventually mess up. When I do, I hope I have as good an attitude as you do. Kudos!
