Lan 0600 - SCL -- LIM -- LAX

Hi guys,

In December (3th) we'll fly to LAX from GRU (SP) and our flight is:

LAN 761 -- GRU ---> SCL

and

LAN 0600 --- SCL ---> LIM ---> LAX

I need help to understand:

- Which planes flight to LAX ? 767 or 787 ?

- When lands in LIM we change planes or stay in plane ?

Than you so much!

Flavio

SCL-LAX route use a 767 and you should stay in the same plane according to the itinerary, but you can always get a surprise; once i did LA601 (LAX-SCL) but in LIM they switch planes for a 787

Is the 787 seat in economy more comfortable (better/larger pitch/width/cushion) than the one in the 767?

The economy seat in the 787 is narrower than the 767 and there's a bigger chance of getting a middle seat (1/3 vs. 1/7 in the 767).

Hi guys,

received a notice of alteration of my flight and the plane changed. Now is the 787.

I had to change seats (my daughter likes to go in the window) and now is 3 x 3 x 3.

The 767 is 2 x 3 x 2 and we were in the middle row (to go together).

Hi guys.... I need another help.

My flight change again....

And I have an option to choose :

GRU - SCL - LIM - LAX (787 with LAN)

or

GRU - LAX (777/200 with American Airlines - old configuration 2x5x2 and 12:45 flight time)

What you choose?

Tks.

If I were in Business Class, I might go with the 787 but in coach (unless you are super-eager to try out the new plane) I would go with the 777 --- no contest. It's roomier in coach but more than that you don't have to do a lot of unnecessary connections!

@postular,

thank you.

In our on the way back we will pick up the new plane....is the same way like the first option.

I think the directly flight it's better too. The only problem is the 2x5x2 configuration (old)...we are 3 and like to seat together....but..it's a detail.

If this option was available to our return home...no doubts !

Tks.

@carlosdca,

18:50 GRU - 22:10 SCL

22:50 SCL - stop LIM (stay in plane) - 07:25 LAX

The AA flight is:

00:35 GRU --- 07:10 LAX

ok. So GRU-SCL-LIM-LAX is a total of 18hrs and 25 minutes.

GRU-LAX nonstop is 12hr45.

Personally, I'd rather take the nonstop that gives me 6 extra hours to spare. In 6 hours I could take a nap at the hotel or at home. 6 hours in a comfy bed beats hands down any lounge or coach/business class seat.

Sorry -- I thought it was just you and your daughter. In the case of three pax I would choose one window pair and the adjacent aisle seat in the middle. That way you are sitting together and your daughter still gets a window.
If you give us your travel dates maybe some of us who have access to the setting charts could advise you on seating choices based on the specific flights.
