Cannot remember which of the LAN Ecuador promotions I was looking at earlier. There was nothing in the conditions on the promotion page but it warned me after choosing the flights on the Precio page.

this is always an interesting discussion, difficult to resolve, but I punched through to purchase and the warning did not come up. On the Peru site the warning shows up on top of the grid selecting vuelos and again on the purchase page... not on the Ecuador site. As well, I have seen LAN fare restrictions that DO mention residency requirements... or at least country of sale... so I checked both the restrictions and fare code details and nothing mentioned there (legally)... but if nervous, always better to be safe than sorry, as you say.

I just ran through Quito to Cuenca and there is indeed no warning about residency. LAN's Ecuador site's promotion page now says it is US$79
But running through the booking it comes out at $48
I don't know if it is an intentional sale but I found a killer (but impractical) LAN deal and posted it here
