Delta skyteam elite benefits

Hi! I am hoping that someone would be able to answer my question since the cs representative at Delta didn't seem to know much=( I am a current Morning Calm member which is also considered the Skyteam Elite membership.

Would I be able to check one free bag at no charge on a domestic Delta flight?

Thank you=)

Per Delta.com page on Baggage, SkyTeam Elites in Main Cabin on Delta US domestic flights get one free checked bag, while SkyTeam Elite Plus members get two.

It's useful to bring your KE FF card with the SkyTeam Elite logo on it. You could also print the page from delta.dumb showing that you should get the one free checked bag, I assume limited to 50 pounds.

Add your KE Skypass number to your Delta reservation. Their reservation system will see your elite status based off of that, but carrying your card is also a good idea.

SkyTeam Elite members are able to check one bag free up to 70 pounds on Delta within the US.

Hi guys,

I have a delta flight with a Delta Connection leg, followed by a regular Delta leg. I am Skyteam Elite plus. The confirmation email says I will have to pay $25 to check a bag on the Delta connection flight, while it is free on the second leg. This contradicts their website which says Elite members get free bags even on Delta Connection.

Anyone have any insight here or should I call?

Thanks

I suspect this is wrong as I've never heard of a DL Connection flight not having the same checked bag policies as regular DL, assuming that it's not a matter of separate tickets or a stopover before an international flight.

Where there is a difference is that some RJs have very small bins so certain carry on sized bags, namely almost all roller bags, must be gate checked for free.

First flight is operated by SKYWEST DBA DELTA CONNECTION and its all on one ticket. Second flight is Delta mainline.

This is what the email says. Unless its because I am coming from Canada?

Did you book different classes for these segments?

They are both economy class. I just booked one ticket in economy. I am a Skyteam Elite plus member which I assumed meant I got a free bag(or two) on both flights.

So I checked in today and was told I got 2 free bags on both legs. Email was incorrect. Frustrating that an airline like Delta would have such a basic error but no biggy.
