SYD-ICN switched from A333 - 77W

SYD-ICN switched from A333 - 77W

We are flying in late November from SYD-ICN in J and just recently had a slight schedule and aircraft change. The flight is now operating with the 777-300ER, as opposed to the A333. In doing some online searches for images of the 777-300ER J cabin I found the following article stating that the SYD/BNE - ICN flights are operating with KE's new J & F cabins:

However, when I look at the cabin layout for my flight it shows J as 2x3x2 layout which is the older model. The article states that Korean's 12 newest 777-300ER's deliveries will have the new J seats installed. So will they be using the newer planes for the route?

I really appreciate the help as I'm dreading my partner and I getting stuck in the middle 3 section of J since KE doesn't allow for advanced seat assignments and we have no status with KE, but both are SkyTeam Elite (if that makes any difference)?

You should be able to do advance seat assignments by calling them. Did you try contacting KE?

I did and was told no advanced seat bookings. Yet according to ExpertFlyer there are already seats booked in J. Not sure what gives.

HUACA? Award or revenue? If revenue, is it a codeshare?

It's a J award booked through Delta. I tried calling KE again after your post and this time I was told no advanced seat assignment outside 90 days?!? Is this accurate?

They changed that rule a few months back, so you may have gotten an agent who's not up to speed. Try calling again or see if DL can give you the KE record locator so that you can pull it up on the KE website and assign seats. I have flights in November (booked through KE) for which we've had seats assigned since April or thereabouts.
