Every time again I am wondering what exactly they mean by this: Rebooking is free of charge within the same booking class as stated in the original ticket.
Does it mean that if one holds an R class ticket and only M is available, the price difference needs to be paid? Or are they talking about economy vs business?

I am stranded in AMS right now (was supposed to be on DL651 Monday). I had originally booked some discount fare class (T or something, doesn't matter). In any case, they rebooked me onto B fare at no extra charge, and I was even able to get free Economy Comfort seating.
Right now I am trying to figure out if I am entitled to any hotel compensation? Also, the last sentence said that they would issue refunds if travelling through AMS. Does that mean a refund even if I fly my new return legs home?

In case of severe delay or cancellation, you have always the right of accommodation, meals and communication.

Then a storm would hit halfway during my trip, and my flight home gets cancelled. Since the promo is over and the original booking class is not available any more on any flight, I am stuck forever?
I assume that the Rebooking option mentioned would be voluntary, while not asking to be rebooked (and be put on a flight that suits the airline best) would be involuntary, and therefore free. But that difference is not really mentioned at that KLM page..

BTW, my recent re-routings were always booked in a higher fare bucket than the original ticket with no surcharges (but also mostly no auto-post of miles )
Good luck to all of you stranded worldwide!

Well the FB rules say you should get credited for the original booking class in case of irrops. Having said that, it is awfully nice if they replacement flights automagically post as they almost always are in a higher fare bucket

East Coast destinations are open again (with the exception of LGA, but KLM is not flying there). Hope all get to their destinations soon... there is a considerable backlog because of flight cancellations in the past few days.

LGA reopened. A friend flew KL641 yesterday and funnily enough was able to upgrade using points at AMS.
