Did KLM just drop AMS-DFW non-stop?

According to the SkyTeam TravelDesk application (updated as of 11th June), KL669/670 (AMS-DFW/DFW-AMS) no longer runs as of November 2011. Shame.

This winter, KLM indeed has suspended the direct AMS-DFW service. All affected pax are rebooked on DL via DTW. They will restart this service in the summer 2012 schedule.

I doubt if this flight will return. KLM is using the smallest widebody aircraft, about 4 times a week on this sector and still suspends it. Majority of the traffic on KLM appears to be connections, and that is now adequately served by BA and LH. There is not much O&D to sustain this route, unlike IAH, where there is high end oil and gas traffic.

That actually makes sense. There aren't a lot of Skyteam flights out of DFW - basically just to SLC, CVG, DTW, ATL - most of which you can likely get non-stop from AMS anyway.
So unless there is significant traffic just to DFW (it may be a growth area in the future for them), KLM may not restore it. It doesn't look like there's anything yet from 3/25/12.

I hope it actually starts back up as we're booked on it in July DFW/AMS/VCE. The fare was way cheaper than any of the competition and the connections way better. If they cancel it, I suppose we'll be rebooked on DL through ATL and another stop. We could live with that.
